Task 1: Types of cinematography equipment

Image
I have investigated the different types of cameras used for cinematic productions. These days professional film makers also use their mobile phones (such as Snow Steam Iron by Zack Snyder). However quality cinematic footage is achieved by using film camcorders. At school we have access to a range of cameras that we will used to film our short film; these are the prosumer Canons, the Canon 250D DSLR and the Mavik Pro Drones. In my PPT slide I have talked about why certain cameras are used and the quality / resolution of the footage

What camera equipment is used in industry that we don't have in school

Mounts-  Cranes Truck Cameras-  8K camera  Mirrorless camera Lens-  Canon 400mm lens Canon 200 mm lens Sound attachment- Studio

LO1: Unit 18 cinematography

Describe how to use camera equipment. Describe the settings for different camera types to achieve cinematography

What is cinematography?

Cinematography is the art of the way we film something. This can be used as shot types, angles, filters, composition movement and lighting.  We have used the concept of cinematography in the exam and coursework units so far, Composition: Shallow depth of field, deep depth of field, rule of thirds, quadrant framing. Lighting: Low key, high key and chiaroscuro.
