LO1: Sound equipment

A boom pole is used so that the camera crew can use a microphone without actually having it visible in the scene. A microphone is attached to the end of a pole which is placed in a position where the actors audio can be picked up.

A microphone is needed to hear the actors voices clearly which will make for a much better product. Microphones pick up sounds and turn them into electronic signals to send them through a recording so speech is clear to understand.
